Wiedenmann is not only popular with its customers: The prime minister of Baden-Württemberg, Günther Oettinger, too, made sure not to miss the official inauguration of the new company headquarters and distributor awards ceremony.

The manufacturers of professional turf care, dirt removal and winter service machines presented awards to the best distributors of their sales network, which spans 48 countries, in Rammingen at the end of June. German customers preferably order the Swabian machine attachments for compact tractors from Schwarz GmbH, ranked number one, in Aspach-Großaspach. The European distributor with the highest growth rate comes from Poland – the country’s economic upturn has long been mirrored by Wiedenmann's sales figures. On a global basis, an Australian distributor showed the strongest growth: Golf and sports clubs Down Under, too, value the high-quality technology from Germany.

The inauguration of the new company headquarters at Rammingen, the company’s traditional home, provided the ceremonial setting. Wiedenmann invested 1.6 million Euros in the building which is equipped with state-of-the art technology. From now on, the company will manage its above-average growth, pegged at 7.5 percent for 2008, from there. The family-run company, established in 1964 and employing 245 staff, has sold about xxxx machines last year. About 70 percent of the orders are from abroad.

Artificial lawn has been identified as a future growth segment: Sports facilities with turf-like ground covers are playable all year round and are cheaper to maintain. However, they too need care – Wiedenmann carries all required equipment in its range. Prime minister Oettinger speculated that Baden-Württemberg was the centre of mechanical engineering in any case. In fact, Wiedenmann has already brought home a world record in this field for him: The one for the most productive turf regeneration machine. The demand for the “Terra Spike” model reported by the distributors is correspondingly high, not least because the machine saves up to 60 percent of expensive work time. Wiedenmann’s distribution network has grown over many years and is accordingly dense. With a total of 380 service centres in Germany the Swabians demonstrate an exemplary closeness to their customers.
